Socrates Died

Shocking news came from the football world had just lost one of his legend. Brazil World Cup captain in 1982, Socrates, died at the age of 57 years and leaves a wife and six children.

Socrates Brasileiro Sampaio de Souza Vieira de Oliveira, died at Albert Einstein Hospital, Sao Paulo. He was treated for an intestinal infection caused by alcohol consumption habits.

During active play, Socrates who plays attacking midfielder ever strengthening Botafogo-SP, Corinthians, Fiorentina, Flamengo, Santos, and Garforth Town. Peak of his career at Corinthians in the year 1978-1984.

Together with the Brazilian national team, collecting 60 caps Socrates with a total contribution of 22 goals. He appeared in the 1982 World Cup and 1986, but was unable to deliver the Selecao a champion.

Socrates is widely known for his genius in the field and a pass is captivating. World Soccer magazine put his name as one of the 100 best footballer in history.
