Biography:
Andy Murray was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on the 15th of May 1987. His family had a strong sporting pedigree, and his grandfather played professional football in the Scottish leagues. Murray, however, did not appear to be destined for a sporting career when born with a deformed kneebone.
Fortunately Murray's knee problems did not hamper his development as a sportsman, and by the age of 11 he was already a proficient tennis player. His skills earned him a place in the Schiller Tennis School in Barcelona, and by the age of 16 he had won the Junior US Open
